A HISTORIC VESSEL WITH A REMARKABLE STORY
Built in 1969 and commissioned in 1970 for the British Royal Navy as a fleet supply vessel, INDEPENDENCE is today one of the few vessels of its kind still in existence worldwide.
Throughout its life, the vessel has taken on several roles: a floating home, a diving support vessel from 2012, and since 2023, our family home, which we have carefully restored while preserving its original character.
On board, you will be welcomed by Dominique, the captain, Whitney, your host, along with our faithful companions: Salsa, Pepita and Bakara.
This is not a hotel. You are stepping aboard an authentic vintage vessel, where every bulkhead, passageway and detail tells a story.
YOUR CABINS
Our cabins are spacious and deliberately preserved in keeping with the ship's authentic character. Faithful to its original design, they have no portholes, guaranteeing darkness conducive to rest.
To reach it, you will use the same staircases and ladders as sailors of old. An unusual experience that fully contributes to the charm of the adventure.
LIFE ON BOARD
On the forward upper deck, enjoy a terrace area facing the wheelhouse to admire the scenery, soak up the sun, or sip a signature cocktail. Inside, the officers' mess welcomes you to read, watch a film, play board games, or simply enjoy the unique atmosphere on board. In less favorable weather, this space also becomes a convivial spot for breakfasts and meals.

To extend your experience on board, The Secret 1969 offers an intimate fine dining experience on selected evenings.
In the intimate setting of the Captain’s Lounge, a maximum of six guests are welcomed for a culinary journey inspired by French and Caribbean flavors.
Our seven-course tasting menu showcases carefully selected ingredients, creativity and a passion for sharing.
More than just dinner, The Secret 1969 is a unique fine dining experience aboard a historic vessel, enjoyed against the backdrop of the sunset over Grand Case Bay.
